Best Thai
Partner Award, June 2005
|

|
FIC won this honor given to a company, wholly Thai-owned,
who, over a number of years has made a significant contribution
to the promotion of trade relations between Thailand and Canada.
|
FIC has partnered with the public and private sectors to explain
Canadian food laws and regulations as well as buyer and market requirements.
It has worked with Thai exporters to minimize product rejection
and detention of Thai exports so Canadian consumers would have access
to reasonably-priced, safe, quality food, especially for high-risk
seafood products.
As a value-added broker, FIC has provided valuable links between
Thai buyers and Canadian sellers for obtaining sustainable, quality
raw material that could be processed cost-effectively to meet international
standards. At the same time, FIC developed innovative food products,
such as Thai curries in retortable pouches, utilizing wild Pacific
salmon as main ingredient, to meet the changing needs of modern
consumers and lifestyles. The convenience and authenticity of these
ready-to-eat, shelf-stable, value-added Thai meals with Canadian
fish is truly remarkable.
FIC's links in Canada extend to education and training institutions.
It has joined forces with organizations offering internationally-recognized
courses for food industry personnel in Thailand that could be delivered
cost-effectively in a local setting.
